ADC to build the largest youth empowerment Pool in Africa

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has revealed that it is set to empower Nigerian youths.

The ADC’s global campus empowerment programme will promote leadership fellowship, training, and multidisciplinary skills acquisition initiatives in the areas of information technology, agriculture-related businesses, fishery, animal husbandry, textiles, and cooperative ventures. The statement says that pilot projects and funding schemes are already in progress.

A statement by the party publicity secretary, Mabel Oboh, revealed
the programme was unveiled by the party’s national chairman, Chief Ralphs Nwosu when he received ADC candidate for the 2023 Kogi governorship election, Hon Leke Abejide, and some party stakeholders at the ADC Global campus in Abuja.

Nwosu noted that Dr Mani Ahmad, a famous educationist and his team has designed a robust ICT and innovative education program and “will play a central role to ensure that the initiatives become not only successful in tackling the unemployment and poverty challenge in the country, but also a tool to change the dynamics and culture of our politics, political party membership, management, and leadership.”

“Reskilling for all and innovation and entrepreneurship not minding the background should be the path to the new Nigeria that we seek” he maintained.

While explaining that skills acquisition workshops will be hosted across the nation for party members and the general public, Nwosu added: “We see this as an important step to take as part of our contribution to empower our youths which will impact the growth of the country’s economy.

“ADC DNA encourages self-growth, contributions from organizations to the growth of our economy, and not relying on the government alone.”

Nwosu further added that at the end of the training, participants would have acquired improved strategic planning abilities, crisis management capabilities, and better decision-making abilities which will benefit them in all endeavors.

The party also revealed that a former presidential aspirant of the party, Dr. Chukwuka Monye, will sponsor an ADC Agricultural Community Impact Competition where three farmers from three different local government areas will be provided with seed capital for farming in the pilot programme.

It added that the selected farmers will be evaluated after three months and the winner among them will get additional funding.

The statement by Oboh quoted Monye saying that he believes strongly that party faithful need to be change agents and should be responsible to their communities.

Oboh noted that Hon Abejide, ADC Kogi governorship candidate pledged to increase his educational empowerment to extend across Kogi State. Hon Leke who has for years maintained his scholarship programme and payment of WAEC fees for students across his Yagba federal constituency said he will unfold his Roadmap for making Kogi state the Confluence hub of the nation.

Oboh insisted that the impact of the ADC global campus empowerment programme will be felt in all the states, local government, and wards in the federation. ADC is ready to change the culture in place at the moment with complete transformational agenda.

The release concluded that ADC stakeholders are collaborating with critical stakeholders within and outside the party to create the largest youth empowerment pool in Africa to inspire growth, development, and the great African renaissance.
