A 30-year-old graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, in Imo State, Nerus Elemamba, has committed suicide.
The deceased, who studied Architecture at Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, was found dangling in his room on Monday evening, March 11, in his village, in Umuohii, Obaoma community, Ezinihitte-Mbaise Local government Area of the state.
The tragic incident happened shortly after he participated in the village’s manual labour involving his peers.
He was said to be in good spirits during the village clean-up exercise and showed no signs of depression.
His death has shocked villagers who are trying to understand his motives as he left no suicide note.
He was buried on Tuesday, March 12, after the required cultural rituals to appease the land were carried out.
