Obi met with the UK minister on Monday afternoon after he presented his policies at Chatham House in London earlier in the day.
The former governor met with Mitchell alongside his running mate, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, and the LP National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure
Also confirming the meeting with Obi, Mitchell said it was great to learn about the policies of the LP flagbearer, adding that he looks forward to working in partnership with whichever candidate Nigeria elects.
He wrote on Twitter: “Continuing my meetings with Nigeria’s presidential candidates, I met @PeterObi yesterday. Great to learn about his policies. I look forward to working in partnership with whichever candidate Nigeria elects.”
The former governor of Anambra also met with senior officials of the London Stock Exchange to discuss a strategic financial alliance with the financial institution.
Obi, who also met with the Director, Africa, and South Asia Strategy, London Stock Exchange Group, Ibukun Adebayo, and his team, said the LP would continue to think of Nigeria’s short, medium and long-term national interest goals.
“I briefly dropped by at the London Stock Exchange yesterday afternoon; I had an exchange of views with senior officials towards a strategic financial alliance with the Exchange. We continue to think of Nigeria’s short, medium and long-term national interest goals.
“It was a pleasure to meet with the Director, Africa, and South Asia Strategy, London Stock Exchange Group, Ibukun Adebayo and his team,” he wrote on Twitter.
