Speaking at the event the District Governor, Rotary Club International District 9110, Rotn. Bola Oyebade said that the project is laudable.
“This is a very laudable project by Rotary Club of Maryland.
This project and donations from the Rotary Club of Maryland will be used to contain the spread of coronavirus in the school, especially as we await the resumption of schools.
All these things are quite expensive and they tend to finish on time considering the population of students in the school.
This covid-19 preventive commodities should be replenished to ensure sustainability of this project.” He said
Also speaking the Acting Commandant, Command Day Secondary School Ikeja, Major Olalekan Dimeji Bamiteko said that Rotary Club is known for their good deeds of providing humanitarian services to people at large.
“When Rotary Club of Maryland approached me as it concerns the donation of the foot operated hand wash and sanitizer booth, it was something we never expected.
This is in line with what is affecting everyone globally.
Covid-19 is a global pandemic that we must live with.
As regards school resumption protocols and guidelines as directed by the government and NCDC to schools, these donated items will assist in meeting the guildlines.
Although, we already have 28 point of handwash and sanitizer unit installed at the entrance of the school.
We have standard Covid-19 procedure in line with the NCDC guidelines as regards the resumption of schools.
The leadership of the Nigerian Army is working to ensure these things are in place with your support.

Also the trees planted will health in ensuring a healthy and conducive environment, especially with the combustion of fuels from vehicles.

The President, Rotary Club of Maryland Obafemi Obadina said that the water and toilet facility falls under one of our major areas of focus, clean water, sanitation and hygiene and also disease prevention.
“We discover a lot of people come to the market and they might need to use a toilet, which is why we rehabilitated the toilet facility for the use of the community.
We also embarked on the tree planting exercise at Command Say secondary school, to commemorate the world tree planting day.
We also donated some PPEs in anticipation of their school resumption.
Here at the Onigbongbo health center we donated pregnancy kits and PPEs” Obafemi said
