A disturbing case of alleged child sexual abuse has emerged from Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State, as an 11-year-old girl, identified as Saamayol Happy Agber, was reportedly subjected to repeated sexual assault by her own uncle.
TRUETELLS Nigeria gathered that the minor, a native of Mbayongo Council Ward in Vandeikya, Benue State, had been placed under the care of her uncle, Mr. Terlumum Agbo, a local herbal practitioner, prior to the alleged incidents.
According to information that surfaced via a Facebook post by Hon. Praise Atsagye, the abuse reportedly began after the young girl was separated from the main household. Mr. Agbo allegedly used the child’s struggle with bedwetting as a pretext, instructing her to sleep alone in his herbal treatment hut. Under this arrangement, he allegedly subjected her to repeated sexual abuse, deceptively telling the minor that the acts were a form of “treatment” intended to cure her bedwetting.
Saamayol, in her own account, disclosed that her uncle forcefully assaulted her on two separate occasions. Following the incidents, she began experiencing severe physical pain and a persistent abnormal discharge from her private parts.
TRUETELLS Nigeria reports that the gravity of the situation came to light on March 14, 2026, when Saamayol was brought to Makurdi visibly ill and showing signs of unexplained physical trauma. While her uncle’s wife had initially suspected a routine infection, a subsequent medical examination — combined with Saamayol’s courageous testimony — unveiled the horrifying truth of the assault.
The victim is currently receiving medical attention at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) in Makurdi, where she is undergoing proper examination and treatment.
TRUETELLS Nigeria condemns this alleged act of abuse in the strongest possible terms and calls on the Benue State Police Command and relevant child protection authorities to swiftly investigate this case and ensure that justice is served for Saamayol Happy Agber.
