10 Dead As Church Building Collapses In Delta (Video)

At least ten worshippers have been reported dead after a church building collapsed in Delta state. 

 

The building housing Salvation Ministry in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State collapsed around 5:55pm on Tuesday January 11, during a service.

The Nation reported that this is the first the church building is being used. Eight persons have been rescued unhurt while four persons were taken to the Asaba Specialist Hospital.

 

Delta Government officials, including Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Chief Patrick Ukah; Commissioner for Health, Dr Ononye Mordi; team of Red Cross officials and fire fighters were at the scene where community youths and a team of policemen were mobilised for rescue operations.

 

Many worshippers, family members and sympathisers were also seen in tears searching for their loved ones.
